Ballad Bingo!!
For our February Valentines swap at the Old Marshall Jail (Zadie's) in 2026, Our Nest of Singing Birds, came up with a clever twist on our usual ballad swap. Unlike traditional bingo, this version uses themes or motifs that often turn up in ballads, rather than numbers. As singers perform ballads, players mark those phrases and words on their cards. Generally, we found that it's best to have bingo players yell "bingo" or "bango" (our preferred pronunciation) *after* the singer has finished singing. Below you'll find an example card, along with a compressed file download which contains enough cards for up to 30 people to play Ballad Bingo:
